Woman and Bird

We are sisters, bird and me,
atop the branch, beneath the tree,
the same sun warms, we feel the rain,
there is no cause for my disdain.

Life gives to each a different role,
intelligence is not the whole,
for of the drama that is set
full understanding is not yet.

She is my eye, I am her wing,
we are both part of some great thing,
to live and die within the whole
and seek to touch the others soul.
