Without Wings

We can never trust
Doomed to live in fear
To heaven we can’t thrust
Condemned to fire

To hell’s gates
Our souls sink
Hearts fail to bate
With the grace of a hawk

We’re nothings
Unvalued by God
Physical beings
Incapable of Good

We’re mere mortals
Just human beings
Far from angels
Without wings
