Without His Love
~~~ Without His Love~~~
(sonnet/acrostic)
Without his love to comfort me,
Into the future I head, afraid.
This loneliness is all I see.
Hope, like a flame, does fade.
'Oft I dream that he is here,
Under warm skies, in my embrace.
The perfect smile of one held dear,
His laugh, a whisper, makes my heart race.
In the night, while still asleep,
Smiling while in my dreaming state,
Love for him, within, I keep.
Only to awake alone, my fate.
Vainly wishing for a love now lost.
Enduring this heartache, at such a cost.
