Within Your Comfort Zone

It’s easy to do nothing, For the effort that’s required To get off your butt and go somewhere Is bound to make you tired. If you factor in the traffic And the weather, if it’s hot, Any travel’s bound to get your insides Tied into a knot. People might not understand it When a meeting you decline, But in life you have to trust your gut And sometimes draw the line. Though it makes the world much smaller, Spending so much time alone, It’s a lot less stressful passing time Within your comfort zone.

It's nice to have a reason to decline a kind request. When we just don't have a mind to oblige on their behest. Sometimes you just will tell a lie that's thinly veiled in truth. And in the end we allow ourselves to be a bit uncouth.

Another gem offering food for thought! My comfort zone is listening to classical music when my brain goes blank with nothing to do. Of late I'd been listening to many Bach cantatas, amazed at their beauty and musical inventiveness. Did you know he wrote one for each Sunday service (with chorus) for five straight years! How did he find the time with a famiky of 20 children??? / Maurice

Home is the haven. I miss my father. My mother moved from her house into a small apartment. I miss the house too! No matter how much time I spent there, from age 4 though visiting until age 50, I’d wish to go back there for just a little more. My children mostly moved out of my home and have busy lives. I’d wish to just klutz around with them in their rooms. I feel like we didn’t spend enough time taking it in.

Ha, ha, ha. Just today I declined an invitation to drive 20 miles --- for ice cream. Father's Day means more to me than a drive in 95-degree heat, waiting in line for mediocre ice cream, getting a stomach ache, spending too much money for what(?!) --- and most of all, leaving my comfort zone. ~ Lazy-as-all-get-out

Ain’t that the truth. Glad to see that you’re still showing the world how to do rhyme… perfect as ever.
