Within

Within

Play’s on the music sweet of day
That sounds each morning fair,
And holds the sign of passing time
More silent then our life’s intent,
But the passion of a quiet voice
Is like a thought that lays within

Sometimes our truth is held inside
Like words we disregard,
And mellow seemed the temple bells
Ringing on through our life’s intent,
Yet sympathy is lost in unknown lines
Or in the solitude that lays within

Sometimes our words come from deep inside
Like images from ages past,
When more simple are the simple thoughts
Blown away by our life’s intent,
But that quiet music softly plays
Out of the silence that lay’s within
