With You, Forever
I travel on the road arduous and stark dark,
God, show me the grace of your divine light,
save my soul from clutch of devils that lurk,
don’t forsake me, don’t go out of my sight.
On the way if I slip on slime of cardinal sin
God, hold my soiled hands and lift me up.
The pangs of penitence let me feel within,
teach me lesson, God, so I’ll clean me up.
When in deep grief my fragile heart breaks,
I start losing the meaning of me being alive,
and see my world crumble in forlorn wreck,
you’re savior, God, in your shelter I’ll survive.
I have reached the near end of my journey,
I now wait on the bank of the eternal river.
God, send the boatman, take me across early
to the other side, so I’ll be with you, forever.
