With Me

Don't it hurt getting your heart ripped out of your chest?
Being the outcast of my family I know how it feels to be shot down by someone's words,
action, and even their own thoughts.

I made mistakes in the past but this one tops them all.
I'm sorry for the millionth time! Why can't you just forget about what other people say?
Why can't you trust me, why can't you be with me?
Was it really you that day or just my imagination?
Was it you who I danced with or just a shadow of my mind?
You're still breathing down my neck, you're still in my mind, but you're still out of reach.

I enjoyed reading this poem. Very direct, and very relatable on many levels of life. I enjoyed reading this, ~John~
