With a Flourish of Whimsy

A thousand simple things will make me smile...
The sleeping form of a precious newborn,
A child's drawing in his artistic style,
Pastel shades of the sky at early morn,
Fairytales of a magic unicorn.
I am amused by hair with corkscrew curls
on heads of adorable little girls.
By puppies tripping over their own feet,
Watching moonlight glimmer as night unfurls,
A surprise kiss that's incredibly sweet.

Someone falling should never make me laugh,
But quickly, I'm chuckling out of control
Then apologize for my social gaffe.
I wildly cheer when my team scores a goal.
I've heard that 'Laughter is good for the soul.'
In a spontaneous moment of fun,
I jumped into a snowdrift at full run,
Finding great pleasure in just being me.
Like the taste of cotton candy, finespun...
Life is sweeter when I set myself free

Do not forget the whismy of Jenna, a heavy heart, and mind, can do that to one's self. Write your beautiful forget-me-not words, KNOW that he would have had nothing but a big smile and peace in his heart... and then flourish like only Jenna does--

Ain't it so Jenna, life is so much sweeter when we shake off the shackles of mundanity, there's a lovely innocence and appreciation here, that the small simple spontaneous things in life are what really matter, a truly refreshing read, all the best for contest, cheers David

I believe it is, David. Simple pleasures are often overlooked in a world of people being too serious, too much in a rush, and it's exhausting. Thanks for reading me and leaving your remarks.

I haven't checked out contest in quite awhile because I have still got brain fog from being sick back in August. This reads like an interesting contest and your entry reads like a good contender to me. I enjoy so many of the same things as you. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara
