Wishing Well

What dreams may come
of wishing wells
four leaf clovers
and stars that fell

Coin drop wishes
Three foot deep
would they come to fruition
If faith could leap?

Yet hope speaks silent
with heartfelt envy
as the dreamer dreams
and casts the penny

Willing the power of a wish to impart
a reality by reason of want
those secret yearnings begging in the heart
hoping something beyond sight will respond

I wish I may
I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight
by star or well or tunnel dark
by random penny in my shoe
by any corse a wish comes true
I've told this wish to only you

While many without faith may dismiss
I promise I will always believe in this wish
and in the things I am yet to learn
to grant me this wish I soulfully yearn

This one really set my heart aglow, Sarai. It is so full of sweetness and heartfelt emotion, grown-up and childlike at once, which is a difficult task to attempt. I believe the universe listens, responding to the wish expressed in any sincere, believing way.

Thank you with all sincerity Mark. I haven't been to the Soup much lately, really miss your work and think of you often. I pray you are well and happy and that your writing has brought you to that deeper fulfillment you were seeking not to long ago. Take care dear one. Hugs <3

May all your wishes come true. Remember, you are the wish that came true for those fortunate enough to love and be loved by you.

Hi Richard, haven't been to the Soup in awhile. Thanks for your comment, sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I hope to be out of my funk and back to my old self soon. Hugs
