Wishful Thinking

At the start of the year it became very clear That my corpulent body should get into gear. So determined to slim, I join up at the gym Where I tone abs and thighs then head off for a swim. I have taken to hiking and steep mountain biking My chic new physique is impressively striking. No more apple pie, fish and chips or white bread: Delicious, nutritious green spinach instead. So why the glum face and the lack of elation? This poem was fun but complete fabrication. All lies, porky pies, using lyrics which chime. New Year resolutions are harder than rhyme! 21/01/19 'Rhyme Battle Xii Poetry Contest' : sponsored by : Juli- Michelle Rhyme Battle Xii Poetry Contest

You said it, Wendy! I was growing envious of your dedication to fitness, which was my resolution too. Made just a tiny bit of progress, probably because of a stomach virus. LOL Still, it's nice when one's "big" pants start falling down. Andrea's had a lot of success, so she's my role model. Let's all get fit together! Best wishes in the contest, Carolyn
