Wished He Had Made His Move Sooner
her eyes were leery, Buck thought it was directed at him
not realizing she did not see him yet
she turned her head and he saw her burgundy hair
like his mother’s, he was fascinated by that
he made a move toward her, but someone beat him to her
it was his cousin, Jake, of course, it would have been
Jake never lets an opportunity pass him by
She turned and met Buck’s eyes, there was some connection
Jake moved on to a blonde, and Buck moved a bit closer
She gathered her things and left, which gave him regrets
He wished he had made his move a bit sooner
“Aren’t you coming?” It was her voice.
She had returned for him.
He realized then how wrong he had been.
