Wish You Were Here

On a mountain ridge beneath the amber sky
The summer sun fades behind the trees
And as the crickets sing a night time lullaby
I sit and wish you were here with me

From the deck of a liner on the ocean blue
Watching dolphins swim beneath the sea
My heart fills my head with thoughts of you
And I sit and wish you were here with me

On a jet airplane high above the clouds
Soaring like an eagle brave and free
A gentle breeze speaks your name aloud
And I sit and wish you were here with me

Tonight in the shadows as I lay awake
I close my eyes and your face I see
I hear your name with every breath I take
As I sit and wish you were here with me

"wish you were here with me" This thought alone tangles softly around me. I can feel the longing in your heart. That need to be so close. This is beautiful and tender, all at the same time. ~ Brandy
