Wisdom of the Dead
Give me something useful
Other than a fading smile
Something that for once is truthful
Something that doesn’t last a while
But instead I’ll find a tear
Happiness has a cost
If I’m pulled away from here
All enjoyment will be lost
This worn down statue stares at nothing
Everything that gives him pain
If I smiled due to loving
In time I’d be insane
Emotions drained by mirrors
Yet still I like to blame
Looking closely gives me shivers
It’s in myself I’m playing games
There’s no such thing as a conclusion
There’s only start and end
The beginning lacks confusion
But then we’ll find we must pretend
