Wired
The lights went out; the power died.
We had to call Con Ed.
Three hours later, it was fixed
And this is what they said:
A squirrel on a wire outside
Decided he would chew it.
He took one bite and that was all
It took for him to do it.
The loss was 20 houses wide,
All due to foolish chomping.
That squirrel should have stuck to
Just his daily feats of romping.
Instead, our power up and died
And all because a squirrel fried.
