Wipe My Eyes

Time passing me by
Leaving emptiness
Moments I’ve cried
Feeling the Judas kiss

I’ve reached out my soul
In the wilderness
Explored deep inside
For a moments bliss

Only to find
Stark frozen nothingness
Where should have been
A tenderness

Once inside a living soul
There before the drummers roll
I felt the feeling
A lovers kiss

The emptiness that lives
Now inside
A place, a sanctuary
In which it died

The lost forgotten
Times we cried
There’s nowhere left
In which to hide

Sometimes something is given me
To love and nurture
In silent dreams
But it isn’t always what it seems

Do I live in the past
Oh! No
The moment has past
Well so!

Slipping slowly in a silent plea
Wishing she’d feel whats inside of me
Knowing that never will she see
The couple we were meant to be

Searing heat
We were that once
Lovers and better
Friends we were

Time took it’s toll
It all took my soul
Now here we sit
The room frozen cold

Not a word
Could be heard
Through the silence
Undisturbed

We used to talk
Now we don’t

We used to kiss
Now we don’t

We used to hold hands
Now we don’t

We used to laugh
Now we don’t

We used to love, oh did we love
Now we don’t

I used to cry
Now I won’t

We failed at what we thought was eternal
Turned into something infernal
Till there’s nothing left
To change this journal
