Winter's Retreat

Winter’s Retreat
Snuggling in our cozy home
Watching snowflakes fly
Crystals making shapes on trees
Stars blink in the sky

Fireplace is drumming
Light is throwing sparks
Candlesticks are lighting
Roadways in the dark

Wind is howling softly
Brooding in the storm
Radiator’s whistling
Keeping all us warm

Icy-frosted windows
Beckon to the light
Pointing to the star shine
In this icy night

We are safe and happy
In this cozy nest
Cherishing our shelter
Luxuriate in our rest
