Winter's Day In Paris

Crazy winter's day in Paris when the snow falls
Kids all around throw to each other snowballs
The Eiffel Tower has a backdrop of snow
Residents and tourists have coffee to go

I walk on the Avenue Charles -de-Gaulle
All the time the snow continues to fall
No fashion parade on the Champs Elysees today
Too much snow has unfortunately got in the way

Motorists in their Citroëns still drive too fast
Walkers like me prepare for another icy blast
Where are the artists in Montmartre I wonder
Painting in the snow would be a terrible blunder

I arrive at my destination not a moment too soon
Wishing for the warmth and sunshine of June
So it's off with my coat as I prepare my meal
A winter's day in Paris is for sure one big deal

I truly enjoyed this piece, especially since up here in Canada all I get, when looking above the window-sill, all I get's an "eye-full" of snow here as well. HA! Like I've said in the past, when in Sudbury, do as the Parisians do...HEE HEE. Sorry for the silliness, it's really a well written piece my friend and fellow poet.
