Winter Trap
Frosty as a statue winter greets,
sometimes it feels too long like a year.
We wish we could toss it away like a stone,
wish we could end it like a talk on the phone.
Like a broken heart we can not warm the winter day,
Still we can enjoy it like a ride on a sleigh.
Close and dark as a shadow winter stays,
It often feels too long like a roadway.
We wish we could pause it like a favourite show,
wish to melt it like a sun ray melting the snow.
