Winter Storm

She came to me in a winter storm
On the day that she first left me
The memories that were never born
Give birth to what has kept me…
Holding on to a distant love
That always did excite me
A second chance to enjoy a hug
She first used to indict me…
Nervously I just stand aside
Still wishing I could hold her
A Consequence of my misplaced pride
Lost years I could have showed her…
Several years may have passed us by
But my heart she still protected
Through her eyes I can see that I
Was cherished because she kept it
