Winter Lake

with a soft damp haze
moonlight defines a cavern
dark sky bright ice void

Thank you, William! I s'pose I shouldn't have called it "haiku" with splitting the last line but I go more for the readability than the defined form. I'm glad you liked it. Elizabeth

Liking your draw on this and your instinctive haiku format, Elizabeth, a nice accomplishment, Aloha William

Thanks so much, Sunshine! Your pen name reminds me: once I attended a weeklong awareness workshop, using the alias "Laughing." It was remarkable how this affected my own presence. I wonder if "Sunshine" does something like that for you. Elizabeth

wow, gorgeous. I am noticing haiku with more than three lines. Is this for a contest in which rules are different?

Thanks, Andrea. No, I was just feeling rebellious! It was 3 lines but I didn't like the look. I don't usually enter contests for this very reason. Elizabeth

Thank you, Susan! What a thoughtful reply. I'm so glad you had the sense of the scene. I've been lazy; will have a look at your work later today Elizabeth
