Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

Winter chose to slumber

In this endless false fall, a summer sun fell down
Off the flattest edge of the planet, outside of town
Ice grew slowly over every part of this lumber
The world at full unrest; winter chose to slumber

It has been a strange winter in Minnesota almost no snow and very little Sub-Zero days. The picture attached to this poem is actually of the trees in my backyard. Approximately 2 weeks before the poem was written. I appreciate your kind words. A.S.
