Winter Bliss

Winter, my favorite time of year
Breathing air so crisp and clear
Critters return back to their nest
Enjoying their long winter’s rest

The sky shines with stars so bright
On a clear, cold winter’s night
The moon shines upon the fallen snow
Glistens and sparkles on the earth below

Country roads covered in white
Picture perfect, a beautiful sight
Carriage rides with a special love
Feeling blessed from Heaven above

Rivers frozen, turned to ice
To a skater, pure delight
Frozen fingers, frozen toes
Bundled up in layers of clothes

The night’s fire blazes bright
Giving out the only light
Hot chocolate in a favorite mug
Wrapped in a blanket all nice and snug

Winter winds whistles a song
It’s melody, hums along
Breath of Heaven frosts the ground
Nothing but white for miles around

Let us not forget Winters holiday
The celebration of Jesus’ birthday
Mankind spreading good cheer
Family visiting from far and near

Sugars and spices scent the air
Cookies and candies to prepare
Christmas carols, deck the halls
Merry Christmas to one and all

Winter introduces a New Year
As the old one disappears
New resolutions, new dreams
The hustle and bustle of new routines

Winter delights in so many ways
Joy and contentment fills its days
No other season holds such peace
Where love is the rhythm to each heartbeat

Winter, the season that I love
A seasonal blessing from above
A gift from God, I hold dear
Winter, the best time of the year
