Winter as a Child
Winter as a Child
In winter as a child
You can have so much fun
Wrap up warm go outside
And laugh and play and run
If it snows its even better
Make a snowman in the park
Make snow angels and snowballs
It really is a lark
You look forward to Christmas
The presents Santa brings
And sing the songs of Christmas
Of pear trees and gold rings
But alongside all that fun
There is another child
Huddled in a doorway
While winter winds blow wild
With just a blankets cover
She shivers from the cold
If nothing is done for her
She never will grow old
She is just one of many
And we must think of them
That haven't got a penny
Those we do condemn
They need help they need love
We should try to do much more
If their sad and awful state
We really do deplore
There must be something we can do
All cannot be lost
We have do save these children
No matter what the cost
