Winter

Whirling winds, spiraling in and out of town,

Into yards with swings, behind wooden fences,

Nipping bites of wind, that break down ones defenses,

Tiny snowflakes begin to fall, covering the ground,

Exquisite lacy patterns, circling and dropping down,

Rituals of chimney smoke, circle and abscond.
