Winter

Winter

Winter, devastation after the fall,
Imposition of Arctic Law
Naked landscapes, souls bared,
Trembling in terrored torture
Enshackled in ice crystal chains.
Remorseless warmth awaiting rescue.

I really liked this one from the first time I read it, and I couldn't quite decide whether to give it a 2nd or 3rd...I received many winter poems but few of them portrayed the harsher side of the season, so this was unique in that way; I liked the alliteration you used as well - congrats on your win in my contest

Also wanted to say how clever the symbolism of this one was.

Thanks for checking in Jack. I kinda see the seasons as kids fighting for dad's chair when he gets out of it.
