Winter

Winter comes and goes
while trees stand still
in the chill and frost
that fit the bill.

Freezing ice makes joy
cold hands bring warmth
shiny lights give hope
bright fires by the hearth.

What does winter bring
but more cold and barren land?
like the inner core of humans
no feelings tiny or grand.

No sound of leaves
blowing in the breeze
no color of green
floating in the trees.

Children’s laughter becomes different
only a few times this season
only for just the first month
after that what’s the reason?
