Winter
The puppy shivers
a hip breaks in a fall
flashing lights retreat
Chills run down my spine
warm hands caress and liven
smoke rings blow
jingle bells
car trips and carols again
bloated stomach
sled rides
slippery steps caution
mistletoe kisses
**Eleventh place win in the serial haiku contest!!
