Winter
Winter is here, the air is cold,
The snow starts to fall on the ground,
Tales of old are often retold,
While friends and family gather round,
No better warmth can be found.
The wind starts to howl in the night,
The trees are all bare and gray,
But the snow makes the world seem bright,
As children run outside to play,
To make snowmen and sled all day.
The fireplace crackles with heat,
With blankets to keep us so snug,
Hot chocolate, a wondrous treat,
While warming a favorite mug,
Wrapped up like a tight little bug.
The birds fly south for the season,
That is where the weather is warm,
Following nature’s good reason,
To fly out of the winter storm,
And keep us safe from any harm.
Let’s enjoy the snow and the ice,
The season of magic and cheer,
Winter is truthfully so nice,
The best time of all, for the year,
With Christmas and loved ones so near.
