Winter

I like days when the air is cold,
And nights when the snow shimmers like gold.
And the trees are bare, with no leaves,
And staying warm requires a mother's squeeze.

I like the snow days when there is no school,
And skating on a frozen pond is so cool!
Going down a snow covered hill on my sled,
Wearing a warm knitted hat on my head.

I like nights sitting by a glowing, hot fire,
Playing board games and cards for a while.
And now that December is the month of the year,
I know that winter is finally here.
