Wings

where are treasures yet to be discovered?
within anything they could be
in our hearts gems lie still covered
i want to find them in me
with help from the people i meet
i will explore all my old limitations
facing forward with no thought of retreat
til my self and my life are brand new creations
the plan is understanding that which lies within
the intention is to open up new avenues
i will travel into and through what i have been
standing straight and paying my dues
knowing myself is my worthiest goal
to face what hides deepest inside
i will find and dust off my soul
clean it up, then why should it hide?
now the going is slow, for old haqbits die hard
but the length of the changing might show
how true is the difference, how watchful the guard
there is one thing that i have come to know
these years that have gone past
and the wicked ways that i have followed
are now over and their stains fade at last
empty and dry is the hole where i wallowed
with words that best describe the pictures i find
i will bring out of my heart all it encloses
i will not spare my own feelings, or fear my own mind
exposing the hidden, let slacken the poses
i am taking this path to clear my sight
and the size of my demons bring low
dry these tears, and then take flight
on the Wings of tomorrow
