Windows To the Soul
His eyes twinkle
And he smiles suddenly
When he is kidding
Or teasing me.
I always see a light
In those beautiful blue eyes.
Sometimes shadowed,
But always there.
I have trouble
Looking in his
Eyes for long.
I always have.
When I look
Deeply in his eyes,
I feel like everything
Is stripped away.
I feel like he can
See deep in my soul.
He is the only person
Who has that ability.
I see the world
In those eyes.
I see eternity staring
Into those eyes.
And I see me
In those eyes.
I see me the way
That he sees me.
He’ll show no emotion
On his face; but
If you look in
His eyes, it’s there.
Hiding nothing,
Everything bare,
The eyes truly are
The windows to the soul.
