Win the War

Everyone agrees ‘tis better to love than hate Until Hate marches in the street naked and seduces the unguarded. It assures us we’re just to despise the hateful. They must be conquered whatever the cost. Sharpen your swords! The vile haters await! Shine your shields of righteousness! Loathsome are the wrong! Wisdom speaks to hearts still tender, Can hate be defeated this way? Love the hateful, and win the war. March 3, 2021

Wise words. We can ingest hate or dine on Love. For me Love is far more appetizing. Blessings Rick

Hitler is a perfect example. A leader who inspires hate but wants us to adore them. They are still amongst us. Nothing like insulting the disabled,geeee...but PS, insulting groups, religions and planning to overthrow the US Constitution?Americans do love each other, but leaders inflict conflict pitting groups,.it's us vs them. Turn on the news.you can see them stoking hate. Hate= votes,. A great poem, I think. Your intelligence shines, PS. Pangie* Love poems like this! Typical Communist move

I think you are right that people are being baited to fight one another. Evil is sneaky and can turn us into monsters.

Wow. This is an explosive write, P.S... Tough choices when one confronts hate, esp. determined hate. E.g., 'Loving Hitler' and/or Hideki Tojo, in the form of appeasement, certainly was a disaster... On the other hand, yes, love wins out in the long, long run. The collateral damage is certainly worth considering though. Thanks for the thought-provoker, gw

You are right Gershon things aren't as simple as my poem says. There is a time to kill and a time to hate...but evil can fool us into becoming worse than the thing we are fighting. I always appreciate your thoughtful comments.
