Willing
I want to pretend I don’t like you as much as I do
But you know who of I think of every day? Just you!
Can you stop for a second and think how wonderful we could be?
Maybe you can consider all the wonderful things I see!
Or maybe I’m just being silly, thinking you have feelings when you don’t
What if you couldn’t learn to love me, or what if you just won’t?
I prefer not to think of it that way, because that would be just too bad
And I can’t lie to my heart; if you walked away I truly would be sad
So day-by-day we discover new characteristics about one another
I have to hold myself back from giving my all; I don’t want to smother
But it’s hard not to fantasize all the ways I could love you
I guess in time I’ll find if you’re willing to be true…..
