Will You Take Me There
I was lost within my life, I could not find my way
My days had no direction, my path had gone astray
I dreaded my tomorrows, with distain I viewed my past
Each time I tried to rise above, my aspirations dashed
I felt I had no where to turn, no one to understand
No where that I could find some peace, til God reached out his hand
Through Him I found the love I need, He offered forth the spark
To relight a single candle that led me from the dark
I leaned on Him and asked Him to help me to prepare
For whatever was before me, I asked "will you take me there?
Will you guide my footsteps, Will you lift me if I fall
If my life is fraught with hardships, will you be there if I call"?
"My child" he said, "I've given you the tools that you will need
Your power lies within you to go forth and spread your seed
Life will not be easy, you'll reap only what you've sown
But if you keep me in your heart, you'll never walk alone"
"Remember things that happen are seldom as we planned
The trials that we are given are like footprints in the sand
Filled in by the tides of time, longevity they lack
Embrace the life that lies ahead, instead of looking back"
