Will They Thank You

have you made this world better
will you leave this world less rotten
when your gone
will hunger too
be forgotten
when you are
you will leave
but will you do so without regret
without debt
to earth
to the ones who will come next
will they thank you
and do as you do
have you been a hateful
fool
a weapon or a tool
for something known to be wrong
in your heart
you know
our children
need you to be better
