Why Write

To be asked why I write poetry, here's my response. I don't try to write happy or sad, good or bad I don't write for myself but sometimes I do. Typically I hold emotion in. My poetry is about letting it out. Allowing Myself to feel something. Sometimes things that I don't want to feel, but that I need to let out. My poems are about healing from past injuries. Hoping that if somebody sees themselves in the same situation they don't wait as long as I did to get help. They're about finding acceptance for my illnesses, I still struggle with that. They're about facing my fears. They are about overcoming my challenges. At least as many as I am able to. They're about finding the way to rely on God when I'm no longer able to cope myself. They're about finding a love that will last. What does this man carry for his hopes and dreams, what they want out of life, what challenges I can help them overcome.. Many contain everything I am. Every ounce of courage and strength I had at the time of writing. Stated simply, my poetry is me.

I'm so glad to hear that at least a couple of people understand. And feel the same. Thank you for taking the time to comment. It means a lot to me that people respond to what I write.

I think people find they relate to written words the easiest when the author feels deeply what they write. I truly felt every word of this write.
