Why Today

The ache of saying goodbye,
To that wonderful guy.
I awake every night,
Trying to find all the might.
To get you off my mind,
For the hundredth time.
I should have kissed you,
I should have loved you.
Now I pay the due,
Of now knowing it was true.
My heart skips like rocks,
Writing unto my mind like chalk.
I should of took your hand,
I should of walked this land.
Now I know,
That you had me at hello.
Why thee delay?
Why just today?
Our song plays,
Our distance delays.
It'll come the time,
When I call you mine.
It'll come the day,
When all this shall allay.

Well-written love poem, I enjoyed reading it today, and I have been there also, it is so hard to say good-bye to that special someone.
