Why I Want To Be An Astronaut

When I grow up I want to be an astronaut
But why? You ask.
Why would you want to be an astronaut
Of all things?

Because I am floating on a speck of dust
Suspended in a sunbeam
I am nothing
And sometimes I am treated like nothing
And sometimes I want to be nothing
And I know, that in the great scheme of things, I am nothing
But when I am soaring through the sky
Far above the earth
Floating
Flying
Free
I can embrace the nothingness
And make it something
And that,
Is why I want to be an astronaut.
