Why I Hate Being Centre of Attention

I'd rather go unnoticed when I do well
that way the hopeless won't make my day hell
because they hate my glory like they hate themselves
it makes them act nasty and hatred prevails

They long for attention that they never get
then when you win it just leaves them upset
Too small to applaud or quickly forget
they put you down as if you're a muppet

The praise of the majority
is the rage of the minority
beating you down is their only priority
when you're successful you're treated horribly

I can be happy in what I know myself
I don't need the praise of somebody else
But they need it badly, they need it like health
It's so pathetic they clearly need help
