Why Have You Deserted Me

WHY HAVE YOU DESERTED ME

When you married me, you saiD
“Have and hold me all through lifE”
You solemnly made promiseS
Heard by all assembled therE
And now you are telling me it’s oveR
Vows you have chosen to forgeT
Even though I still feel lovE
You tell me that for you it’s deaD
One man can please you and it’s hiM
Uncaring you’ve deserted mE

First you are happy for a short while, One person happy in a marriage. The other is not? After a short time together, or longer? Why is it that way? He cheats. The wife does not. Makes no sense.
