Why Don'T You See Me

Here I stand
Out in front
Bare for all to see
I shed my skin
Emptied my soul
But you don’t see me

The foolishness I left behind
The years I lost, just wasted time
You’ve taken all I have to give
Requesting more so you can live

And now my shell is all I have
The rest gone down the drain
My one and only life I had
Has disappeared in vain

Its over now
My end is here
Still shaded by your tree
I gave my all for you to live
And you never saw me

It is so hot here in Ohio the last few days and they say stay in if you can. Well I can and so I thought this would be a wonderful day to thank everyone for their kind comments on my poetry. So I say thank you to you for the kind words and for sharing your amazing poetry with us Kimberly. Love, Carol
