Why Did She Take Her Away

Willow weeping
Above her headstone
As I stand
Here all alone

Searching for answers
That I'll never find

Tuesday is long gone
Its the last
Date upon her stone

With each strike
Of the hammer
They sign her goodbye

Why did she take her away
Along with her body
My heart now lays

I still question
Her choices
On that fateful day
Why did she take her away

I saw us
Growing old
Hand in hand
By a bed

As you told me goodbye
You'd kiss my forehead

But instead of
Me waiting
In Heaven for you

You took the precious gift
That God gave to you

Why did she take her away
Along with her body
My heart now lays

I still question
Her choices
On that fateful day
Why did she take her away

My tears like mirrors
Reflect back
Onto a happier place
When love is all
That mattered
And our dreams
We're yet to be made

The voices I'm hearing
Still say
I'll love you
Till my dying day

But the day
Was that of your choosing
And it's not
How I pictured fate

Why did she take her away
As I stand here
Our life
Seems to replay

I love you
My darling
Till with you I lay
I wonder why did
She take her away

Oh why did she take her away.......
