Why Bother

He says he will do this
He says he will do that
He's always breaking promises
So my heart stays where it's at
Our future, I'm unsure how bright
At this time it seems so dim
I find it hard, with how he's been
To give my heart to him
At times he's very sweet
At other times so mean
I'm realizing there's a side of him
I guess I haven't seen
If he thinks I'm going to sit and wait
while his life continues on
If for too long I'm kept waiting
My heart will weaken not get strong
After year, and years, and lots of pain
For once life was looking bright
I have tried so hard to get to him
But the pain again, turns out the light
