Why should I be thankful?
Why should l be thankful?
I can think of a couple of things
I have food to eat and a bed for sleep
there is honest joy it brings
I enjoy sleep in silent comfort
My body feeling no pain
Dreaming sweet wonderful dreams
No worries or feelings of shame

I have people that truly love me
What more is there l need?
God shall take care of anything else,
l believe in him indeed
So believe me when l tell you
Good things shall come our way
Dark times will fade to light
As bright sun shines each day.
