Why? (A Poem of Ashley's Infidelity)

She said she’d love me forever
That I was why she lived, why she breathed
They were all lies
Oh, how well she deceived me
I was the sun in her sky
The stars in her night
When I was lost in darkness,
She was my light
I watched him with jealousy
As I watched her infidelity
Why did she do this to me?
I’m broken down
A sad clown
There’s nothing left for me in this world
I thought I had it made
I thought I had undying love from this girl
She lied to me
Said I was the reason she awoke everyday
Why I believed her lies?
I’ll never know
But she sits there and lies,
Saying, “I wish it wasn’t so.”
But I know she never truly loved me
And all I can say is, “Why Ashley? Why?”
