Why?
Why did Christ die,
When we didn’t deserve it?
Why did Christ come
When we didn’t earn it?
Why was Christ buried,
In a tomb so cold?
So we could walk,
On streets of gold.
Why did Christ rise,
Victorious over sin?
When He knew that mankind
Wouldn’t let Him in.
Why would a lamb,
Without blemish or spot
Die for the world,
When they’d accept Him not?
Could it be that He looked through the ages
And saw a few that would serve Him at all?
Could it be that He saw us in the here and now,
And knew we would answer His call?
Why is a question that may never be answered,
But here’s what I know is true.
If He wouldn’t have died for anyone else,
He would have still died for you.
