Why?

Why can’t I pretend for you?
Why can’t I act like I need?
The reasons that you lie for me
Things that I have still fail to please

Why do I trust the darkened skies?
Why does it betray my thirst?
The things I love will deter my mind
But then the things I need make it worse

My conscience failed everyone I bleed
It seems life’s game is to use
The people that fail themselves will need
Someone that can abuse

Why am I such a prick?
Why do I still deny?
This world seems to rely on hate
And the things I want still despise

The questions that make my mind go on
Why can’t I give in to vain?
The questions that make the blinding sun
Question my need for pain

Tell me why I refuse your heart
Tell me why I try
Give me a reason to steal your trust
Just give me darkened skies
