Who Was That

I walked past a window and who did I see An old man who is looking back at me The smile I always had has disappeared And I wonder if he was ever so near There were always places to go and people to see Now there is less of what more would be For time wears you down and doesn’t heal When you think of the things which you found real But perk up you say there is plenty of good If you look hard as you rightly should So now I sit here and write And think of it all now without spite. © Paul Warren Poetry
