Who Wants To Be Content?
This word that everyone seeks,
Is it really what they need?
Searching for it we spend our weeks
But you, I think it will mislead.
In its achievement you will find
The loss of your fire and your drive,
For its beginning will take your will,
The very things that make you thrive.
You’ll simply sit and watch it all,
As it slides by your window side.
It captures you within it thrall,
Unstoppable as the deep sea tide.
Be careful of true contentment
It really isn’t what you desire
It doth lead to true resentment,
And steals away your hearts fire.
