Who Seeks Peace More Than I
Joyous and melodic harmonies
ascend to the cumulus clouds turning
from bright crimson to opaque grey;
I gaze to get a glimpse of their beauty,
which I capture before vanishing...
oh, this sunset has a rare loveliness!
Awakening stars gleam
waiting for darkness to conquer
the entire sky within minutes...
in someone's heart a noble dream
is being born regardless of its wishes;
would t he make it another wonder?
Who seeks peace more than I?
Rambling in a wilderness
where shadows are harmless;
isn't it my wish before I die?
Until then, let me tread long paths
and explore them to discover places
that others less admire and deplore;
it can be a barren hill or a remote shore!
No days are wasted after vanity,
the scope of each life has a different
perspective on which to build trust;
whatever they decide, faith is the uttermost...
although harsh and delusive is the reality
to assert convictions and wipe out the doubt!
Who seeks peace more than I?
How long will it be before I find it?
In a grove of pines, in an orchard
with blossoms frequented by a hungry lizard,
or within the walls of that Monastery...
where a painting depicts the crucified Christ?
